Qatar: In a significant diplomatic development, the leaders of Qatar and Türkiye convened at Lusail Palace for the 9th session of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee. The meeting, co-chaired by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, commenced with a warm welcome, setting a positive tone for the discussions ahead.

Expressing mutual aspirations for the growth of strategic relations, both leaders conveyed their desire for a pleasant and fruitful collaboration between the two fraternal nations.

Central to the discussions were the noteworthy levels of collaboration achieved in vital fields, with a particular focus on investment, trade, tourism, and culture. His Highness the Amir praised collaborative efforts, emphasizing a commitment to further development. Reciprocating, President Erdogan expressed gratitude for the warm reception and optimism about discussions enhancing broader strategic cooperation.

The bilateral meeting, preceding the formal session, provided an opportunity for the leaders to exchange opinions on common concerns. Following this, the leaders presided over the formal session, attended by high-ranking officials from both Qatar and Türkiye, including ministers of foreign affairs, defense, and industry, among others.

The high point of the session was marked by the formalization of 12 cooperation agreements between the two nations. These agreements spanned various sectors, encompassing political consultations, cultural cooperation, labour, and humanitarian aid. The joint declaration stemming from the committee meeting, signed by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his Qatari counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdurrahman Al Thani, solidified the commitment to these collaborative efforts.

Furthermore, a notable pact on bilateral cooperation for humanitarian aid and charitable work was signed. This underscored the broader scope of the partnership, extending beyond economic and political dimensions to encompass shared values of social responsibility and mutual assistance.

The Qatar-Turkey strategic meeting not only reaffirmed the strong ties between the two nations but also laid the groundwork for extensive collaboration across diverse sectors.
