The Oman Sustainability Week Awards
The Oman Sustainability Week Awards serve as the launchpad for a week-long initiative that encompasses a vast exhibition, a conference, and diverse field visits. These awards aim to raise awareness about sustainability issues and encourage companies and institutions to incorporate responsible and sustainable practices into their corporate strategies. Additionally, they underscore the significance of dedicating oneself to social and environmental issues to achieve long-term economic growth.
The Oman Sustainability Index has been meticulously categorized into various sections, highlighting the country’s efforts towards sustainable practices in environmental, social, governance, and human resources domains. Moreover, the assessment was based on key performance indicators such as the governance criteria, encompassing the organization’s vision, anti-corruption policies, sustainability goals, stakeholder engagement, and sustainability reporting.
The social practices criteria focus on evaluating the organization’s social impact, contribution to local communities, and effective supply chain management. The environmental criteria examine the efficiency of the organization’s environmental management system, energy consumption, waste management, and emission reduction. Additionally, the human resources criteria assess the organization’s performance in ensuring employees’ health, safety, training, and education and providing job opportunities for the community.
