KSA: In a diplomatic development, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait’s have affirmed their unwavering commitment to the global OPEC+ alliance. Both countries underscored the importance of serving both producers and consumers while fostering global economic growth emphasizing the critical need for all OPEC+ nations to align their actions with the alliance’s goals.

This resolute stance was articulated in a joint statement following the reception of Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Royal Court in Riyadh on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have agreed to bolster cooperation across multiple sectors, with a primary focus on the oil and gas industries. Acknowledging the crucial role of clean technologies in handling hydrocarbon resources, both countries vowed to initiate projects significantly contributing to the sustainability of global energy supplies.

Moreover, the joint statement also highlighted the signing of a MoU in the cybersecurity domain. Both sides stressed the importance of continuing to fortify their collaboration in this critical field. The acknowledgement of the significance of cybersecurity cooperation underscores the mutual understanding of contemporary challenges and the need for joint efforts in addressing them.

Additionally, the leaders announced the signing of a railway link project connecting the Kingdom’s capital to Kuwait to strengthen physical connectivity. This landmark initiative symbolizes a commitment to infrastructural development as well as fosters closer ties between the two nations.

Furthermore, Sheikh Meshal took the opportunity to extend heartfelt congratulations to the Saudi leadership on Riyadh’s selection as the host of the 2030 World Expo. In reciprocation, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed appreciation for Kuwait’s support and nomination regarding the Expo, showcasing a spirit of collaboration and shared achievements.

The positive diplomatic tone was further accentuated as Sheikh Meshal congratulated Saudi Arabia on its candidacy to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
