Qatar: In a significant stride towards bolstering economic ties, a MoU was formalized between the National Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Investment Promotion Agency of Qatar. The signing ceremony transpired during the visit of NAI’s Deputy Director, Zhibek Abdullaeva, to Qatar on November 26, 2023.
During the visit, Deputy Director Abdullaeva seized the opportunity to shed light on the investor-friendly conditions prevailing in Kyrgyzstan. She underscored the conducive environment crafted to attract potential investors, providing insight into the burgeoning investment climate within the Central Asian nation. This briefing set the stage for the in-depth discussions that took place in the subsequent meeting with Ali Alwaleed Al-Thani, the Executive Director of the Qatar Investment Promotion Agency.
A noteworthy proposal emerged during the discussions, as Deputy Director Abdullaeva floated the idea of organizing a Kyrgyz-Qatari business forum. This proactive suggestion demonstrated a commitment to not only fostering economic cooperation but also creating a platform for direct engagement between businesses from both nations.
The response from the Qatari side was equally promising, with Executive Director Al-Thani expressing profound interest on behalf of Qatari businessmen. They not only welcomed the proposal for a business forum but also conveyed their readiness to actively support and facilitate its realization.
The Memorandum itself delineates the framework for collaboration, outlining key areas of focus. The agreement encompasses mutual efforts in promoting investment and export potential, offering preferential conditions for collaboration, and facilitating the exchange of information concerning companies operating in both nations.
This MoU marks not just a formal agreement but a commitment to a future marked by strengthened economic collaboration, exemplifying the shared vision of Kyrgyzstan and Qatar for a prosperous and mutually beneficial partnership.
