As we head into Q4, the business scene in Oman is gearing up for a busy few months. With meetings back on the agenda, Muscat’s food and drink offering has really taken off, bringing some exciting new venues to the city. Among the latest arrivals is Novikov Café Muscat, which opened its doors in June 2024 at the St Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort. Known for its modern take on Mediterranean cuisine, Novikov is already making waves in Oman’s dining scene. With the launch of their new lunch set menus, we sat down with Antonella Mastrodonato, General Manager of Novikov Café Muscat, to find out what makes it the ideal spot for both business lunches and casual dining.

Tell us a bit about Novikov Café’s concept.

Novikov Café focuses on the simplicity of a product, putting the quality of the ingredients as the main point of reference. The first Novikov Café opened in Dubai, where it quickly became a hotspot for all-day dining. Here in Muscat, we’re proud to work with carefully selected ingredients for their quality, and some locally sourced ingredients like Omani prawns. We aim to offer a chic yet relaxed atmosphere – perfect for enjoying delicious food that’s both sophisticated and full of flavour.

What can you share about the new lunch set menu?
The new lunch set menu has been designed to meet the growing demand from our guests. We’ve become a go-to spot for business lunches as well as casual catchups, so we worked closely with our chef to create two- and three-course options, available from 12 to 3 pm every day. Everything is made fresh daily, and the menu changes regularly to reflect the best seasonal ingredients. We’re starting things off with a selection of starters, mains, and desserts, including a new favourite—our special date cake.

What makes your lunch set menu stand out?
What’s really special about our lunch set menu is how it changes every week. This gives our guests the chance to try something new every time they visit. It’s also a great way for our regulars to experience exclusive dishes created by our chef using the finest ingredients. You can always expect something exciting on the menu, with these new recipes available exclusively during lunch.

Any exciting plans for the months ahead?
We’ve had such a positive response since we opened, and we’re excited to build on that. With the cooler months coming, we’re planning some new activities, including masterclasses with our Executive Chef Marco Lubian. Guests will be able to learn the secrets behind some of our most popular dishes. We’re also preparing to celebrate Omani Women’s Day and Omani National Day with special events and offers, which we can’t wait to share with our Omani guests.
